All Genres > Folk > Gentle > IBERIS: Somewhat Important

Jan Reed's seductive vocals and gentle guitar rhythms are soothing if not inspired. Drawing on influences such as Suzanne Vega, The Sundays, and Eddie Brickell, Iberis is a fresh and honest voice in the muck of the mundane.

****************

Iberis, in my opinion, is one of the best kept secrets in Salt Lake. The sweet sensitive vocals combined with the gentle tickling of the guitar, fiddle and other grass roots instruments set a dreamy, peaceful mood that reminds me of a warm summer day or driving in a car on a lonely road. Iberis' music is insightful, loving and very inspiring! The lyrics are whimsical and poignant, yet they glow with a sense of longing, intent and soul searching. If you want an album that is beautifully produced and edited, that is calming, tranquil and serene, I would definitely recommend picking this one up! From beginning to end, this album is a delight. It truly is delectable ear candy for the heart and soul! If I could pick the next big thing, this group of very talented musicians would be it!
