Described by the UK's The Guardian as an 'acoustic troubadour', Steve Roberts was previously the singer/songwriter with the Liverpool band 16 Tambourines whose album for Arista , 'How Green is your Valley?' was highly praised. All their singles received extensive radio play and the band toured Europe.

Since the bands demise, Steve has been supporting the likes of Ron Sexsmith, Ian McNabb, Glen Tilbrook and Martin Stephenson as well as touring UK and Europe in his own right. He has also undertaken many live appearances on national and local radio.

His first solo album the Mercury Music Nominated 'It Just Is' was described by Uncut as '....a fine, largely acoustic debut album welding the creepy folk pop noir of Love with the subtly grained songwriting style and vocal textures of Neil Finn.'

Steve's latest album ' Shake It, Make It & Don't Fake It' is another largely acoustic based offering but rootsier and more melodic, combining new country sounds with samples, banjos, fiddles and 12 string guitars, but still recognisably classic Mersey-pop. The lyrics are again engaging and touching, either viewing the mechanics of power with a cynical eye or singing of hope.

Martyn Campbell, who co-produced 'It Just Is', is again present offering his melodic bass lines and vocals. Martyn also plays in Steve's live band The Bank of England, was previously in The Lightning Seeds and is now in Richard Ashcroft's (The Verve)band. Further assistance is given by Dan Dean guitarist with ex Probe Plus favourites The Onset, Robbie Taylor from bright new Liverpool band The Great Northwestern Hoboes and Brian Chin who co-wrote a number of songs on 'It Just Is'.

Steve produces, programs, plays guitars, percussion, pianos, harmonica and lots of bits and pieces on 'Shake It, Make It & Don't Fake It'.. It was mastered by Phil Coxon ex OMD and producer of many hit records at his FubarUK headquarters.

The album is initially available as a limited edition black vinyl style CD with picture sleeve and newspaper insert.
