Steve Reid was brought up in Missouri and cut his finger-pickin' techniques in North Carolina. But he's been in California for quite a while and his songs reflect that -- everything from warm beaches and love to bad-mouthed beautiful women. Steve never likes to take the easy way out with his music, so the chord progressions and melody lines are unique. The violin on this live CD is sometimes haunting and sometimes soulful.
