Mesculine (2001) State Of Enchantment's 'new millenium' album points to the future of this durable group, while also celebrating its long musical journey through past work. An enduring force at the forefront of Progressive Music, S*O*E™ (driven by the expansive songwriting and inimitable guitar style of Spensser Haynes) continues to surprise and delight, beginning with ... country? Where did that first song, "Going Away", come from? "Mesculine" includes a booklet with notes on each song. Long-time fans will remember the intimate conversations that preceeded each song on the "With Love" album, and how that listening experience was like a warm visit with a good friend. "Mesculine" brings you back to the happy family gathering at 'Uncle Spen's' house. It Rocks, of course ~ S*O*E™ always Rocks! It Rocks you Cozmik and Bluzy like you want 'em! Oh, Baaay-bee! But like family, there's more to it than just another bunch of people partying. It's personal. You Know these people, they've been with you for years, lifting you up in the early days, keeping you alfoat when times were hard. "Mesculine" revisits the 'salad days', those times when we were all young and free, not yet having found ourselves and built up our lives and lifestyles. Back then, salad was a couple of leaves of iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato on a cheeseburger, when we could afford one (they called it a 'California burger'!). We drove old cars we could fix ourselves (mostly because we had to - couldn't afford mechanics). Things are different now: we've grown and experienced, and our lives have gone in a few unforeseen directions, but our lives have become our own. We've grown more comfortable in our skins. These days, salad is more likely to be some favorite admixture of tender raddichio and romaine, chicory and spinach and watercress leaves, and it's a separate dish now. Check it out: Here is more than 80 minutes of music, waiting for you to push back the furniture and kick off your shoes. You'll hear 'Places In Between' and 'Change', two intelligent pop tunes that can still say something while delighting you with melody and sound. You'll have the best album for dancing, or just moving to the beat, in years!Including 'The Bog Song' (a favorite from the early days in California), and 'I Wanna Go Dancing' (yes, their big club hit song is finally released here!), and the incredible new track 'Un-de-de' which will make your body feel so warm and sweet. Turn it Up! Play it Loud! You Can stay young forever! "Mesculine" follows the 1998 release of "New Vision Café". The group have also released "Sweet Daddy's Back" in 1995, "Diogenes" in 1993, "With Love" and "Hard Blue Night" in 1991, and "Live Studio" in 1990. "With Love" and "Live Studio" were reissued in 1998 following "New Vision Café". "New Vision Café" is still available. All other titles have sold out, and are not currently available. "Sweet Daddy's Back" is planned for reissue in 2001. Visit the website for more information and special items! Check out the artist's website: http://www.dr1.org/SOEmenu.html Track List: 1.
