The concept for King of my Living Room came about in 2000 when Brady Earnhart had a party at his home and invited many, if not most, of Charlottesville's finest singer/songwriters-- not because he had any musical agenda, but just because he happened to be friends with them.

When the party spontaneously evolved into a late-night informal songwriter's circle, the musicians realized that they had a stumbled upon a wonderful concoction of various, complementary styles and talents. And so they decided to relive the scene in front of an audience, record the performance, and release a CD. Here is a passage from the liner notes:

"In an effort to recreate the atmosphere of the original party, we set up a living room on the stage, using bits and pieces of all our sundry homes (Brady's coffee table, Browning's floor lamp, Jan's old arm chair, Danny's rug). . . . Then we all made ourselves at home for the rest of the evening, drinking, trading songs, and cracking wise."

King of my Living Room has sold out Charlottesville's Live Arts LAB space each of the five times it's played there. The CD, compiled from the best bits of recordings of the group's first three shows, has received rave reviews from Charlottesville audiences and press.

One of the album's tracks, Brady's "Car Repair," was recently featured on NPR's Car Talk. Individually, the performers have received strong praise from the local and national press, including, C-ville Weekly, The Washington Blade, Acoustic Guitar magazine, and from radio DJ's nationwide, such as Rich Warren of the nationally-syndicated "Midnight Special," WFMT Radio, Chicago.
