Gigging since age 14 and a career musician all of his adult life, Jim's been around the musical block. He is a masterful guitarist with a comfortable, deep groove and a writer of witty, sometimes quirky lyrics that display his restless imagination. He is a three-time finalist in the New Folk songwriting competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival (TX) and his song "We Are All Connected", took the Grand Prize in the 2002 Great American Song contest. 2001 saw the release of his CD, "Closer To The Surface": twelve songs of love, life, insanity and natural disasters. This eclectic collection is composed of original and inspired performances, with wry and compassionate lyrics that express the beauty, the terror and the wonder of being alive.
