Who is Datafolk ? DF (his friends say "def" ), the scarecrow : he was born in a field located between Normandy and Paris. He made his own guitar at 9 years old, and rapidly became a virtuoso of this instrument. His first real guitar was given to him by Fred and Jean-Yves during a memorable picnic. Today he is the leader of Datafolk. Jean Yves Le Porcher : 35 years old, born in Rouen. 1979 : Spends all his Wednesdays building cabins in the forest and the month of August harvesting. The fair came to town : he spends his time in front of the speakers of the rides and discovers the "huge sound", henceforth standard, of Disco and of Funk. 1993: buys his first sampler and starts his own design agency. Today he is a composer and designer Fred Bargain : 26 years old, born in Paris. 1984 : first computer and first piano lessons, but chooses first of all to express himself with his father's super 8 camera. 1990-92 regular stays in the USA : develops a love of American productions. Folk, Pop.in music ; science-fiction and horror in movies. Today he is a composer and director. Datafolk is a voluntary clean and simple sound, based on acoustic guitars backed up by House-based electronic rhythm. Pop songs with sun-drenched melodies and a "low tech" style anchored in its time without nostalgia, if it isn't for the words of Euston Jones coming from folk tradition Datafolk, the ideal weekend soundtrack.
