Poetic and exquisite. Darren Block exposes raw nerves in this second album. His lyrics go deep into places I never knew existed. American Dream has turned out to be one of my favorite 'political songs' ever. I fell in love with the first album but I'm going to marry this one.

I get the sense that he knows me and it makes me feel strangly uncomfortable. I feel like he's spying on my inner thoughts with songs like 'Final Word' and 'The Stone'.

If you're looking for metaphors, look no further. Good job Mr. Block. I usually take follow-up albums with a grain of salt and a hearty... "good try," but I must admit that I was taken by 'Somewhere South of Canada.' Just as I would begin to get sucked in, you'd shift gears and take me in a completely different direction but in the end it all made perfect sense. Like life I guess. Another metaphor?
