"Hazy Days" is Nick Ratliff's first solo album, and it represents a very stripped down approach. This album was recorded acoustically in various locations. Most of the work and the final mix was handled by Mikael Karlsson, in his downtown LA studio. Fred Korus engineered parts of the album in Hermosa, and some of the recordings were done at Rat's Venice home on 4-track. The result is unified album of dark themes and beachy melodies.

Ratliff is originally from Arizona, and he is involved in a lot of different musical styles. He has worked with everyone from Nashville songwriters to west coast hip-hop producers. He started playing with the Dipbuckets in high school. The Dipbuckets were an eclectic mix of desert punk, country and metal. When he moved to LA, he helped start a band called Threeskin. Since the days of Threeskin, Rat joined a Venice band called The Setups. The Setups are still performing and writing new music.

Other Rat projects include Devastating Karate and The Rat and Jax Project. If you have any questions, please email.
