"Coming Home" is Michael's first CD release and the songs included on this recording represent an overview of more than 30 years of work as an entertainer and song writer. As a high school kid in Ohio in the early 60s he began performing as a keyboardist and vocalist in several rock bands. In the late 60s he teamed up with a guitar player doing folk gigs at universities and coffee houses. After college the search for adventure led to Alaska and while "proving up" on a remote home site near the Arctic Circle he polished some basic guitar skills and began writing songs.
The musical styles on this CD vary considerably from the rock and roll of "Ready To Go" to the blues of "All You Ever Wanted" and the soft folk of the ballad "Beautiful Day". Country influence is obvious in "Fairbanks Female Syndrome" and "Lost Patrol" is more representative of traditional story telling folk songs. "Handyman Waltz" is a quite danceable tune with some of the flavor of Willie Nelson.
