"...her music is definitely folk, but in a very natural and unaffected style" -Long Island Music Coalition Alli Collis began her music career while she was attending college at James Madison University in Virginia. There, she taught herself guitar, wrote her first songs, and shortly after was playing local festivals and showcases. Upon her return to Long Island, where she is originally from, the music scene quickly welcomed her and she has become a fixture in the coffeehouses, bars, and clubs around the Island and NYC. The album she has self-released is definitely worthy of attention. It is stylistically diverse, ranging from the gritty blues-folk of "jealousy" to the reggae-esque, folk-pop social commentary of "mr. stranger". What is a common thread throughout, however, is solid songwriting and creative finger-picking-style guitar playing. Check out the artist's website: http://www.allicollis.com Track List: 1.
