After a year and a half of performing, Bebek released its self-titled debut album in February of 2005. The band’s eponymous debut release is currently playing on 296 college, triple A and satellite stations across the country. Bebek’s music draws comparisons with other pioneering acts such as Bjork, Stereolab and Portishead. Along with the album's success, Bebek has become one of Philly’s largest draws. In addition, Bebek’s fan base is constantly growing due to the band’s heightened profile as a touring act. The band’s resume outside of Philadelphia includes high profile shows in New York, Chicago, D.C, Winston-Salem, Boston, Nashville, Louisville and Lexington as well Summerfest in Milwaukee. In October the band was invited to play the Lebowski Fest in New York an event that was covered in Rolling Stone, Playboy, Spin and Giant. The band has been licensed for MTV shows 'Made' and 'My Sweet Sixteen' and PBS’ 'Roadtrip Nation'. To top it all off, Bebek released their new EP 'Open Eyes' in March 2006 and performed during the world famous music conference SXSW in Austin, Texas that same month.
