Ron Holohan, current guitarist of AVP decided he would like to join the band when he first spied on them at a show in a Northside Chicago church. He inched closer as he found it peculiar that an entire band could be so animated (jumping around, interacting with the audience) to what seemed like ambient ethereal music. Suddenly, the female singer, Abigail made a mad dash across the stage and tackled the kilt clad bassist Andrew Gemkow. After crashing into a rack of six guitars they turned over and over on the floor, punching each other in face. They rolled over a power strip and suddenly all sound went dead except for the drums. Holohan knew then that this was the band for him. AVP, always a walking contradiction- light and dreamy in sound, sexual and violent on stage.
