Biography of Aradia Chappell

Aradia was born Suzanne Wilma Chappell April 9 1965 in Brandon Manitoba, daughter to Larry and Wilma Chappell. Her Father,being part of the Canadian Armed Forces then took the family to Zoust Germany where they spent several years, returning to Canada in 1971. Aradias' Father Larry being very musical joined a band when she was ten, introducing her to the fine art of performing , which she took to wholeheartedly . She joined a childrens' choir at age ten and performed her first television appearance in the choir for a Christmas special on Hymn Sing C.B.C. , this show was also recorded and aired on C.B.C. radio for several years running at Christmas time. She began writing her own songs at ten writing her own form of musical score which she devised herself. Her Father taught her to play guitar at the age of twelve.

Aradia grew up on army bases across Canada , until her Father left the Military to come to B.C. , where they settled in the Okanogan Valley in 1980. Aradia Or Suzanne ,as she was known then, entered several talent contests , winning some and finally set out on her own at sixteen. to come to Vancouver. She entered to become part of a locals radio broadcast and performed her own songs on CO-OP radio at eighteen. She then decided on a family and healing career , she became a certified Shiatsu practitioner in 1990, after the birth of her second child .

Aradia performed in many marketplaces , healing , EarthDay events , coffee houses, and began to write for her first C.D. release in 1993. The C.D. came out in September 2000 , recorded at Rolling Thunder Sound in Nelson , B.C.. She then took on a professional choir , the Selkirk College Harmonic Choir under the untenable Cheryl Hodge, a graduate of Musical Arts,Unversity of Berkley California.Cheryl guided Aradia into solo performances with the Choir and encouraged her to take on the opera , which she did, performing that year 2001 in, " The Marriage Of Vigaro " by Stauss sponsored by the Nelson Opperettic Society. Several other local performances later and a brief stint in University , taking woman's studies , poetry and sociology, Aradia came to Vancouver to record some of her songs and continue with her spiritual studies.

She is a practicing Tibetian Buddist a registered Metis of Canada and a student of Kabbalarian philosophy,she wrote one of her songs for her spiritual guide and mentor Rinpoche.The songs chosen for this reentry into the musical world are a sampling of the dozens of her originals available forrecording and release. Her latest musical contribution to the community is a three song demo which exemplifies her spiritual and mental capacity as well as her vocal and musical range , that captures her vibe ,essence and intensity , recorded at two studios here in Vancouver. She is confident that this music will be received openly by the community and to Canadians at large.
