An experienced performer on the live music circuit both in Bristol and beyond, Remo spent years plying his trade in soul and funk bands before a stint as a studio engineer tuned him in to the potential of technology. He hasn't looked back, emerging with a suite of self-penned songs that often marry the rich, soulful timbre of his distinctive vocal style to an irresistible electronic pulse, with discreet elements of more conventional instrumentation augmenting things nicely. Yet what sets Remo apart is his restlessness: far from treading water within the confines of any fixed style, he runs the gamut of genres, dabbling with surging drum and bass, crunchy electronica and even, on 'Forever Strong', a looser, earthier reggae feel. All the while the tune that's takes precedence, with Remo's magpie-like movements between sounds never once forsaking the quality of his songwriting or the dexterity of his musicianship. This is music that could only emerge from the seam of boundless creativity that is Bristol's independent music community; by revelling in that freedom afforded him, Remo does it's heritage proud whilst ploughing a path all of his own.
