Sub Oslo has been creating pure Texas Dub since 1996, with a full six peice band onstage and a live dub-enginear at the sound board and a live visual artist projecting images on stage Sub Oslo creates live Dub for the moment often stretching songs out in the 15-20 minute range. This brings the magic of the original dub masters (King Tubby, Augustus Pablo, Scientist, Lee Perry...) up to date by keeping the improv element of the studio mixes they performed and bringing it to live stage with an almost free-jazz element.
The albums recorded by Sub Oslo are also recorded in this same manner, becoming full albums as opposed to a collection of songs.
In 1996 Sub Oslo started a new Dub style that would inspire many musicians through out Texas and now it is not uncommon to see or here of musicians/bands playing dub influenced music.Sub Oslo has toured the west coast, visited Japan, and contributed music to the Xbox game "Brute Force" as well as shared the stage with a variety of excellent musicians such as Fugazi, Raz Mesanai, the Make-up, Mad Professor, Yeti, Him, June of 44, the Roots, DJ Krush and more.
Sub Oslo is currently working on a DVD that will help bring the live Dub experience to the living rooms and bedrooms of Dub fans all over the world.
Sub Oslo thanks you very much for giving them the opportunity to make the music they love and feel passionate about, thank you.
