The Music: Listen to the hot tracks and slamming beats from new Los Angeles recording artist ROB E C and his blend of euro-dance and edgy, pop/hip-hop beats will keep you dancing all night. Rob E C's music has at times been compared to Depeche mode, Linkin Park, Lasgo, George Michael,and J.T. to name a few, but no one band defines his distinctive pop/electronica sound. His first track on the e.p, "Give It Up", is a urban pop/dance track with a strong beat that is bound for radio and club play. The second song, "Her Way", is another dance/pop gem with a strong guitar and driving rhythm. Freak 2 Nite, the third track, combines Usher's beat from "Yeah", playful lyrics, and rapping from Phillie G and Chosen1 to create a fun sure-fire club and radio hit. Finally, "Wishing You Were Here" is a mid-tempo heart-breaker that combines powerful synths and strong lyrics. The Story: Originally from Connecticut, Rob started writing songs and arranging music on a keyboard at the age of ten.He was accepted into the renowned music program at SUNY Purchase College in New York, where he studied classical as well as modern music. While a student at SUNY, he wrote songs by himself as well as forming a band with fellow classmates called "That Animated Town." The band broke up about a year later. At the time,he was strongly influenced by English new wave bands such as Depeche Mode, The Cure, and New Order. After graduating with a degree in music composition, he began to DJ in prominent Connecticut and New York establishments. In 1997, he moved to Los Angeles and formed the mobile DJ company Uptown Sounds. His current musical influences include artists such as Usher, Craig David and Daniel Bendingfield. The Future: From dance to hip-hop, ROB E C is a powerhouse singer, writer, and producer who's destined for the top of the charts. Watch out everyone!
