All Genres > Electronic > Ambient > MICHAEL OSTER: Fluid

You won't believe what you're hearing! Fluid reaches the pinnacle of sound manipulation and design where a single 14 second sample evolves into a 54 minute CD of experimental, ambient soundscapes. Existing somewhere between music and sound effects, Michael Oster creates a unique world in his 2000 CD release. Fluid was featured in Electronic Musician's ProFile column (Feb. 2001) and reviewed in Keyboard (March 2001). Listeners have called it "genius", "warped", "mind-blowing", "innovative", "not for the timid", and even "I'm not sure what the hell it is".

Fluid has proven that you won't be seeing Michael Oster on "American Idol", or at the "Teen Choice Awards" either. But, hey, that's the price you pay for originality.

Michael Oster began his professional career in 1992. In 1993 he started his own recording studio, F7 Sound and Vision. In addition to his numerous recording, editing and mastering credits, Michael created the sample CD-ROMs Concept:FX vol. 1, Concept:FX2, and Concept:FX3 which are in use around the world.

In addition to Fluid, his other recording credits include the documentary CDs Suburban Thunder and Night Sounds. He has been working on music-related, spoken word, sound design, remote recording, product development, video, television, and web design projects for over 9 years. His experience with non-linear audio systems (Pro Tools) began in early 1993, and he has logged more hours on various incarnations of Pro Tools systems than he can keep track of. Legend has it that he can make a Pro Tools system jump through burning hoops while standing on his head.
