Imagine that you are floating in space experiencing all the haunting sounds around you. Akataka's swirling, hypnotic vocals and haunting instrumental arrangements take you on this journey of sound and emotion. Akataka began in 2000 when I was experiencing deep emotional feelings for the Desert Southwest. The depth of feeling and the musical sounds I was creating began to evolve and merge as the recording process took over. I believe that I have created a sound that people can feel while experiencing their primal connection to the universe. The intention of Akataka is to come from the heart and remain egoless, pure, and honest to our universal connection. When you listen to the music I hope you can take that journey of freedom and feel "In Spirit". The music was recorded and produced in Sedona Arizona from 2000-2004, by Akataka and producer/musician Gary Bettum of The Music Studio.
