The Amada Project
October 10, 2004 (official release date)

AMADA Compilation Album to Benefit The Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer, and other charities.

When The Susan G. Komen Foundation's Phoenix Race Co-Chairs, asked Kenn Harris, a local doctor and musician, to create a benefit album for breast cancer research, Harris turned to fellow musicians, artists, and songwriters and posed the question "what would you say to someone you loved, who had breast cancer?" The result is The Amada Project, an uplifting breast cancer benefit album due out October 10th to coincide with the 2004 Phoenix Race for the Cure.

Amada, which means "the loved one" in Spanish, combines the talents of over 50 Valley musicians, artists, supporters, and friends, who contributed everything from their original songs and studio time, to the thoughtful package design and additional financial support for the cause. Even the Governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano, herself a survivor of breast cancer, pitched in - she's the one playing the sports whistle at the beginning of track 1 "Gonna Run." This same song is also the backup music for all the Clear Channel Radio advertisements in the greater Phoenix area for The Race For the Cure.

A portion of all profits, will be donated to breast cancer awareness, screening, and research programs, and other bonafide charities.

For additional information, music, or interviews please contact music and executive producer, Kenn Harris or co-executive producers, and co-Chairs of the 2004 Race for the Cure, Joyce Battaglia and Christi Rich at kennharris@kennharris.com (623)933-3865.
