Adam Saul-Bloch plays guitar as if he's sitting on the back porch on an airy summers afternoon, content but wary of the rain. You can hear it in his delicate melodies and pensive sentiments, culminating in an earthy mosaic of sound that can only be described as his own. It may then come as a surprise to some that the artist in question is only twenty years old and considers himself to be very much in vitro. In 2003, when he boarded a plane to the United States on a musical adventure, Adam once again got a taste of the uncertainty he and his parents had experienced some years before. Born in South Africa, the first child to a native-born father and a British mother, the young family promptly decided to emigrate. Starting a new life in London, the city he would call his home, they arrived with nothing but a couple of suitcases and some big ideas. Enveloped by so much music as a child, it seemed very natural when he started playing drums at the age of nine. By his early teens, he was juggling multiple bands, from rock to electronica, and soon began experimenting with other instruments and sounds, occasionally skipping school to rehearse or audition for a new group. It was after being handed down an old classical guitar by his father that Adam's interest in writing music started to take shape. He sought out lessons from Peruvian Flamenco guitarist and fellow musical nomad Andrea Samengo, and the two quickly became friends. A few years later, Adam recorded a five-song demo at 'Esaurito,' Samengo's minimalist home studio. It was also here, in the summer of 2004, where he recorded his debut album "Writing Home." His lyrical lamentations of love lost and found, of homesickness, and of tragedy are a look into his most personal journal entries, all accompanied by an honest and bare harmonic soundtrack. Adam Saul-Bloch is currently living life between his home in London, England and Boston, MA in the USA where he is studying at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music. He is working on new material, and can also be found playing live on both sides of the Atlantic. Check out the artist's website: http://adamsaul-bloch.com Track List: 1. Broken Record 2. Cheryl 3.
