From Ron: Hey there - I am a singer/songwriter living in the greatest city in the world - Brooklyn, New York. My CD, "A New Set of Standards" is a compilation of original compositions. Since I was a kid, I have listened to and been influenced by people like Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Tormé, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, Sammy Davis Jr. - the list goes on and on. The composers who have touched me the deepest are Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim and Billy Strayhorn to name a few. When I was a teenager and all the other kids were listening to Journey, Aerosmith, Peter Frampton and Kiss, I was lost in the headphones, eyes closed, absorbing Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Duke Ellington. I used to think I was born too late but, cycles occurring as they do, I know now I was born right on time. I've been writing songs for 18 years and I'm proud to present this collection. I've got a lot of new material waiting to be recorded and I look forward to bringing it to you on my next CD. In addition, I'm writing a musical called "I GOT ISSUES" which I hope to produce in the Fall of 2006. Here's one of my standards: Write the truth lyrically and melodically and the performance will take care of itself.
