New England Ringers is a group of highly energetic, talented ringers dedicated to making music on handbells at the highest degree of excellence. New England Ringers (NER) has emerged in only a few years as one of the foremost handbell ensembles in the country. Under the direction of Edward G. Henderson Jr., the 13-ringer ensemble performs at a professional level and presents a diversified and largely secular repertoire. “Ring in the Holidays†is NER’s first CD release and was recorded live at Rogers Center for the Arts, North Andover, MA, in 2005. Included in its 13 tracks are well-known holiday favorites as well as selections destined to be tomorrow’s classics. From the sweet lyricism of ‘In the Bleak Midwinter,’ to the lightheartedness of ‘Jingle Bells,’ to Elvis’s ‘Blue Christmas,’ to the flash of Bizet’s ‘Farandole,’ this is an album that is sure to please.
