Born of Puerto Rican descent in Manhattan, NYC in 1963, Migdalia Colon grew up in Brooklyn. She was the youngest of five siblings, all of whom made up the local church band which her father was the lead of for years. Micki, as she is known by her friends, played guitar, keyboard, and tambourine as well as sang. "Music has always been a part of my life." , says Micki who, encouraged by her family, began to record her music just two years ago.

Originally intended for exclusive use by Outta Left Field Productions, an independent film company based in NY/NJ and headed by Writer/Director Ivan Velez and Writer/Producer Anthony Colon (Micki's Husband of eight years), Micki's Music for Motion Pictures began to win the heart of everyone who listened to it and the decision was made to make it available to everyone...film and general audiences alike. "We really felt strongly about the title to the album, it's perfectly appropriate as anyone who's listened to it agrees.", said Anthony Colon who's favorite song on the album is Colors of Flowers.

With a myriad of instruments arranged in such a meticulous manner, Micki's Music for Motion Pictures invites, excites and simply takes you away.
