"'Fiddle Tunes For The Birds' is a tantalizing compilation of vibrant fiddle tunes that will appeal to music and bird lovers alike." - (Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine Review - September 2001) "This CD is required listening for anyone who loves great fiddle music. Beautifully conceived and performed, should be a favorite for years to come." - John Rees, Producer, GodsChild Records, Nashville, TN Arvel Bird is a descendant of Scottish/English pioneers and Shivwit-Paiute native Americans from southern Utah. Arvel's early years began with classical violin training. As a student of the arts, Arvel learned at the hands of fine teachers from his hometown of Boise, Idaho to the University of Illinois. In the mid-70s, Arvel took to the stage with a country band in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was soon fronting his own "Arvel Bird Band" and in 1981 recorded his self-titled album full of original compositions and old favorites. "Bird flies through the tracks with great aplomb, soaring and weaving through hot licks and sweet waltz refrains. I really grooved on the old standards, "Listen to the Mockingbird" and "Hot Canary." But his own compositions were equally as compelling. In fact, BIRDSTOCK 2001 sings all the way through." - Review, Nashville Music Guide - November 2001 "'Fiddle Tunes For The Birds' is a tantalizing compilation of vibrant fiddle tunes that will appeal to music and bird lovers alike." - (Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine Review - September 2001) Check out the artist's website: http://www.arvelbird.com Track List: 1.
