The Schubert Family Band is back in town again. Their new CD is a "back to the basics" adventure, including original material, some of which dates back to the '60's and '70's. It has been a long strange trip, make no mistake.

Al Schubert, singer/songwriter, keyboards, guitar, accordion, etc... has been writing music since 1962, when a good gig paid $5.00, (man or woman). His performing schedule has taken him from The Gate House, and Sonny's in San Antonio, Texas to The Holiday Inn in Brainerd, Minnesota.
He's played at Casey's in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, and The Continental Plaza on Chicago's magnificent mile, as well as Beavers on north State. He brought his music to college campuses, clubs, and bars throughout the Midwest. He's done daily TV performances at a university TV station, and performed in charity telethons in the Fox Valley since 1994, as well as a six-year Friday night gig at the Village Squire in West Dundee, Illinois.

The term "journeyman" comes to mind.

Susan Schubert, vocals, congas, timbales, djembe, boudran, tambourine, claves, chimes, afuche, cowbell, etc... Began singing and playing percussion in 1974. She has marched with The Chicago Royal Scots Pipe Band. She and Al have performed together throughout the Midwest.

Ian Schubert, vocals, bass, and guitar, began performing with the band in 1991, as did his twin brother Eric Schubert, vocals, and guitar. They appeared throughout the Midwest during the 1990's as the Al Schubert Band, playing clubs, concerts, festivals, and county fairs. Eric doesn't appear on this CD but will be heard on their next release, which is now in pre-production.

Every song is a story straight from the heart. The bands sound is stripped down and road ready. They produce a wide open acoustic sound, perfect for the open roads of America, flavored with equal parts of country, blues, folk, and rockabilly roots: proof that less can be more.
