Expect to hear much more from the Hunger Mountain Boys." Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine, March 2004 "The Hunger Mountain Boys recapture evenings spent sitting on the floor in front of the old Philco listening to country music that's just about as elemental as it gets. Except for the fact that there's no static, these could easily be taken for transcriptions from 1935 or so." Sing Out! Magazine, Summer 2004 Reviews of The Hunger Mountain Boys record, Fashioned In The Old Way and some of their recent performances: "Yeah! This is the real thing, nothing but straight-ahead heartfelt singing punctuated by exquisite picking. I enjoyed every "old fashioned" moment...what a cool record!" DAVE HIGGS BLUEGRASS BREAKDOWN NASHVILLE PUBLIC RADIO WPLN 90.3 FM /1430 AM NASHVILLE,TN "Although new to our area and virtually unknown to our audience, the response made it clear that they won't soon be forgotten. Their high energy and sincere approach to the brother-style duet harmony singing helps to set them aside from other performers at bluegrass festivals. The crowd loved them. If you haven't seen them be sure to catch their next show!!!" CANDI SAWYER PROMOTER OF THE JENNY BROOK BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL PUBLISHER OF THE BLUEGRASS GUIDE "The Hunger Mountain Boys are the genuine article! Their new CD Fashioned in the Old Way is a fantastic record and a well-received addition to our play list." SCOTT JOHNSON OWNER,WKZE 98.1FM - SHARON,CT IBMA RADIO PANEL MEMBER "The Hunger Mountain Boys, a terrific duo...shared a single, old-style microphone, and they harmonized in the old-country brother style...their fleet playing was matched by their plaintive, microtonal singing." SETH ROGOVOY BERKSHIRE EAGLE “They're the next big duo...It was a mighty showing by The HMB at The Parkside, they thrilled the locals with a well-paced polished show that was humorous and musically impressive. A lot of the humor was spontaneous, playing off the crowd or whatever was going on at the moment, tuning or finagling the guitar strap, they're very good entertainers. And they're very likeable cats on and off stage.†Review By Frank Goodman, PUREMUSIC.COM, Nashville, TN Read about the Hunger Mountain Boys in the news: http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2003-11-17-newsong-festival_x.htm# http://www.rutlandherald.com/Search/Categories/Article/78764 With the release of "Blue Ribbon Waltz" in January of 2005, The Hunger Mountain Boys have set out on a national tour.
