One day, a frustrated cowboy named Jim Steele packed up his country and moved to the East Coast in pursuit of Modern Music. In a strange twist of fate, he ran into Lonesome Cowboy Burt, an aspiring avant-garde saxophonist with roots deep in the old western country tradition.

After developing a strong kinship, the two realized they still had a little country in them, and decided to round up a group to record some of their timeless gems. They met with a hot guitarist from New York, Luther "Guitar" Goldstein, who was doing some session work in Boston.

Luther lived with a psychedelic rock drummer who had an intense Johnny Cash fetish, so choosing Sticky "Stix" Johnson to handle the percussion was a no-brainer. The group needed a bass player to fill out the line-up. Jim heard through the grape-vine that there was a psychiatrist living in Boston who used to play in some bluegrass acts during his college years. Dr. Chubbs came down to jam with the band and was hired after the first tune. The result of those magical sessions is what you might be listening to at this very moment.
