Jim was born in Willard, Ohio on August 13 , 1952. He started in music at the early age of 8 years old playing piano recitals of Bach and Beethoven. A 1971 graduate of Willard High School , Jim started his first musical group "The Green Expressions " in high school. Jim's first group played area parties, reunions, fairs, and festivals all over Ohio. Shortly after High School Jim started teaching guitar lessons at a local area music store. In the early 1980's Jim and his new band "The Brandy Band" had their first 45 rpm record release, a self pinned song entitled, "What You See Is What You Get" and " I don't Love You Anymore" which recieved local area radio air-play from WNCO Ashland, WTTF Tiffin, WMRN Marion, WCPZ Sandusky. Jim also played a "Live" radio broadcast for WNCO and WMRN. Over the years Jim has entered and won several singing contests and in 1980 and 1981 had the proud distinction of winning for the state of Ohio,"King" of country music for the Ohio Country & Western Music Association. Jim then signed with a professional promoter and booking agent John Moore Entertainment Inc. , which was based out of Columbus, Ohio and played stage shows all over Ohio and was able to be a opening act for such musical greats as : Johnny Cash, Little Jimmy Dickens, Teresa Brewer, Bobby Goldsboro, Sha-Na-Na, and Jimmy C. Newman. Jim's career started in the 60's and is alive and well yet today. Current Events and Up-Dated Biography In 2004, Jim made several trips to Nashville and in the month of July played music at the "Fire-side Jamboree" at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee with Sissie Lynn, daughter of Loretta Lynn. Sissie and her husband John Beans invited Jim to come back and play the show whenever he was in town. Jim also got to play a jam session with Gene "Jack" Hall brother of Country Star Tom T. Hall in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Jim and Jack exchanged CD's and e-mail addresses. Jim Currently has 4 CD's out and still selling copies at the various shows he plays. Jim has made a total of 16 TV guest singing appearances on the Jimmy Dutton, "Hymn Time" show on channel 39 Marion, Ohio and channel 21 Brunswick , Ohio On April 15th, 2005 Jim did a singing guest appearance for Channel 22 TV in Brunswick, Ohio. Jim has sung on stage at the Gaylord / Ryman Auditorium "Grand Ole Opry". He also entertained at the Motel in Renfro Valley Kentucky where they still have their weekly "Barn Dance"and radio show. A new CD project is in the making with a group Jim often sings with called "Blue Country Rose". This is a Country Gospel group based out of the Marion, Ohio area and the recording project should be ready for release sometime this spring. Another group Jim sings with is "Country & Western Bluegrass Jamboree" they also have several bookings per month. Between the two groups and the shows Jim books on his own, sometimes the combined list adds up to as many as 25 shows per month, occasionally 2 shows per day. Jim currently has 4 cd's available and is working on 3 other recording projects.
