Jimmy Parker is a Virginia born native who has been singing and playing music nearly his whole life. He began his singing career singing in clubs and honky tonks in rural southeastern Virginia. After studying piano for six years he bought his first guitar at 13. He was in his first band at 13 years old and was first paid to sing when he was 14. Jimmy idolized the singers, Merle Haggard and Lefty Frizzell while learning to sing (a later influence in his musical life was the late, great Keith Whitley). He experimented with several genres of music but his heart and soul lived in country music. He played his music while attending college and while serving in the armed forces (US Army). He is well traveled and currently lives in Nashville, Tn. He is a songwriter and singer that has performed on the road and in Nashville with people like Thom Bresh, Lane Brody, Wild Rose, Tim McGraw, Tracy Lawrence, Jo Dee Messina, Kitty Wells, Dick Curless, Vern Gosdin, Charlie Collins (former guitarist for Roy Acuff and one of the last surviving members of "The Smoky Mountain Boys," Acuff's band) and others. Charlie Collins, who is also Jimmy's father-in-law,plays mandolin on the cd. Jimmy's music ranges from the great traditional style of country music to some of the rockabilly. He has recorded 4 albums, with "Warm Love" being his fourth. He had two regional hit songs back in the late 1980's and the early 1990's with a recording by the title of "Party of One" (wrs: Harlan Sanders/Larry Kingston) and the other entitiled "Memory Crossing" (wrs: Harlan Sanders/Larry Lee). Those two songs were big and popular hits up in the New England section of the country (Rhode Island and Massachussettes especially). As a matter of fact, "Party of One" was one of the most requested songs on WHIM in Providence, Rhode Island in 1989. It was also the number 1 song on their station charts for twenty-six straight weeks and a total of 28 weeks in all at the number one position. In 1990, Jimmy was awarded the title of "most requested country music singer" for the year on WHIM radio in Providence. As a result of the success of the radio airplay for these two songs, Jimmy traveled and performed many concerts in that area until he stepped out of the music business in 1996 to take care of his wife who became very ill. He is currently widowed, lives in Nashville and is a Physical Education teacher as well as a performer. After his wife's death in 2003, he fullfilled a wish she had and began his return to music. He began writing and learning more about the guitar. His wife, Lorili, was the inspiration for the title song on Jimmy's album, "WARM LOVE." He is still heavily involved with songwriting and singing in Nashville. He also owns his own publishing company (Eastern Seaboard Music) and his own production company (Little Yak Productions). He is aspiring to return to some road work for the summer months when he's not teaching so he can perform for his fans again. Currently he is concentrating on writing great country music. He has been teaming up with Jimmy Clay Frizzell (Lefty's nephew) and they have been writing some great traditional music as you will hear on Jimmy's cd, "Warm Love." In addition, Allen Frizzell, Lefty's brother, sings background vocals on two of the tracks on Jimmy's cd. Jimmy has been performing around Nashville with some other great performers such as Shelly Rann, Earl Clark, Rhonda Hart, Jackie Harris, Jimmy Snyder, Clay Canfield, etc. This is Jimmy's newest musical venture and he finds it exciting to be back in this business after a long lay off. He knows that it is the fans of country music that make an artist successful. That is why Jimmy has put his heart and soul into this album and he hopes that you, a country music listener and lover, will enjoy listening to it as much as he enjoyed recording it.
