Allen Hurt began performing at the age of 10, playing guitar and singing in his hometown of Sherman, Texas. After many years of performing solo, Allen decided to put together "The Heart of Texas Band" to play locally and then tour. Over the past 20 years, Allen Hurt has been providing quality entertainment with his musicians, "The Heart of Texas Band". In this period of time, Allen has written over 1700 songs holding a traditional country and bluegrass style to each one. Previous concerts have been held at both large and small venues throughout the years to include the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville Tennessee and various venues in Branson Missouri. During shows, audiences abroad have been thrilled by Allen's amazing tenor vocal abilities, flat-picking style and genuine stage presence. As a seasoned veteran in the music industry, he has been recognized in many areas for his unique talent as an entertainer and songwriter. Allen is honored to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry Of Texas and has recieved the Texas Music Legends Award along with being Inducted into the Texas Music Legends Hall Of Fame in 2005.
