A singer/songwriter for 32yrs, now 40 with three kids and a dog, this is my passion. This CD has some of my best work, and I wanted to get it out there for people, in hope that they would enjoy it. I wrote the title song years ago, for my father, who was a coal miner, as well as his father before him, and so on. I grew up in southern W.V., and as a child, remember, when a mine accident would occur, all the kids in the classroom would wait, nervously, to watch the teacher come to the door and choose which child was to come with them. That meant it was your Dad this time.
So, I dedicate this CD to all the coal miners, who brave the danger and darkness, for the coal that provides for the families, who pray that they come home everyday.

In Loving Memory and Gratitude,
Kim Shell
