Almost twenty years ago, Amanda Lynn sang her first public solo, and it was from that moment she knew music was always going to play a huge part in her life. Now, at age twenty-five, she is determined to find her place in country music.

Performing since the first grade, Amanda Lynn excelled vocally through her school years, performing in musicals and singing in the choirs at both school and church. At the age of eight, she performed many times on local television in Pittsburgh. In sixth grade she was accepted into a gifted artists program, two years earlier than other students, called Centers for the Musically Talented, and continued to attend the program until she graduated from high school. This program allowed for her to receive private voice lessons, to be part of a musical theatre group, to learn musical theory, and to be part of a choir with other talented singers. Amanda Lynn continued the program until graduation from high school. "At first I thought the idea was crazy," she says looking back. "I asked 'why would I need voice lessons, I already know how to sing?' But I'm so glad I did it, and I'd do it again if I had to because it really made a difference in how I project myself."

After graduating college from the University of Pittsburgh in December of 2000, she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. Business was her major but performing was her passion. Since that time she actively pursues all musical & performing opportunities that come her way. From karaoke at night clubs to talent contests, Amanda Lynn was never shy to the spotlight. In January 2002, she became a member of the Pittsburgh Songwriters Association where she rapidly built a song repertoire and groomed her performing style and brought to life her original songs and songs by her peers. In April 2002 she earned second place of twenty contestants in Pittsburgh's Starquest TV Challenge. In Summer 2002, she became a regular performer in local events such as the Waterfront Town Center in Homestead, The Shops at the Galleria in Mt. Lebanon, the finale concert during the Eighth Avenue Days week-long event in Homestead and at the South Oakland Area Residence (SOAR) Community Days in Pittsburgh.

In November she earned second place in the Nashville Star contest. Shortly after that, she hit second place on Pittsburgh's KDKA AM radio "The Pittsburgh Idol Contest." In March 2003 she appeared on a Pittsburgh cable channel (PCTV21) in the televised Make the C.U.T. (Citywide Undiscovered Talent) talent show. And, as of this post, Amanda Lynn is in the second round of auditioning in the CBS Star Search adult singer category.

In August 2003 she released her first and self-titled album. It can be picked up either through her Web site or through CD Baby.com. In September, 2003 she held the CD Release Party which drew an unusually large crowd to the venue that sponsored it. She has also added two more songs to the collection of her own writings. In December of 2003, Amanda Lynn became 1 of 8 finalist's who advanced to the second round of auditioning of Pittsburgh's Citywide Undiscovered Talent contest which was held in March. At this time, Amanda Lynn has a six-piece band with upward of 40 original and cover songs, covering anywhere from 2 to 4 hours time.
