This album was inspired by the life and death of Ayla's mom Lynda Bliss and is wholly dedicated to her with Love. "Lily Plain, You're Hardly Poor" was recorded over three days at the Pine Ridge farm in the Lily Plain section of Northern Saskatchewan about a half hour west of Prince Albert in the languid summer of 2003. All the playing was done live-off-the-floor by Ayla, Lane and Marek in the main room of the "old half" of the farmhouse where Ayla grew up.
