"Ian McFeron [is] among the latest to earn the description 'Dylanesque.'"
-Gene Stout, Seattle Post-Intelligencer Pop Music Critic

Ian McFeron formed his band is January of 2003 to record his debut album, “Don’t Look Back.” The band was quickly discovered by The mountain in Seattle (AAA-formatted KMTT at 103.7 FM). Within months, the first single, “Love Me Twice,” edged out Modest Mouse, Bob Schneider, The BoDeans, and Ray LaMontagne in The Mountain’s “New Music Throwdown,” a weekly competition where listeners vote for their favorite of two new songs. The band went on to share the spotlight with international and national artists such as Nanci Griffith, Patty Griffin, Shawn Mullins, Amos Lee, Carbon Leaf, Julia Fordham, The Hothouse Flowers, Jars of Clay, and Matt Wertz.

In 2005 McFeron released his sophomore record, “A Long Way To Freedom.” McFeron is a lyrical singer/songwriter in the tradition of such folk greats as Bob Dylan and Paul Simon and such contemporary favorites as Ryan Adams and David Gray. McFeron (vocals, acoustic guitars, piano) is accompanied by the Texas Fiddle of Alisa Milner, the electric fingers of Tracy Goodsmith (electric guitar), and the back-beat rhythms of Todd VanSelus (bass) and Mark Bateman (drums). Much of the group’s rapid and steady ascent can be attributed to their unique sound- a blend of musical influences that range from acoustic rock to folk, from alt-country to gritty blues. Fistfight With Father Time, released in March of 2006, marks the band’s third studio album.
