Higher Ground is a fiery live band from the Northwest, best known for their high energy performances featuring traditional intruments in a rock/bluegrass genre. Sugar Drop is the Bands third studio album and features Charles Neville (of the famous New Orlean's, Neville Brothers Band) Alan, the band's founder and Charles go back many years, and Sugar Drop was their chance to collaborate on a totally upbeat and fun project. In addition to tunes that range from blues to bluegrass in flavor, instrumentation also has some suprises with mandolins, dobro, pedal steel guitar, steel drums and an awesome piano solo by Peter Boe from the Robert Cray Band.
