Harvey Levy began as a folksinger in Montreal, playing coffee-houses and university hootenannies in the 60’s and has been songwriting since 1972. In 1989 he began co-writing with Lee Solomon of Woodbury Tennessee and in 1999, Boothill, a Winnipeg country band recorded the Solomon/Levy tune 9-1-1 on the Ki-Keeks label. Since then Harvey has recorded and released to radio two other songs: How Can I Miss You If You Won’t Go Away and When You’re Not There. He was nominated for the 2002 MCMA Country Songwriter of the Year Award. His most recent performances have been at the MISC songwriter’s Night at the Academy Coffee Company and a solo Salvation Army, Christmas benefit at Bread and Circuses Bakery Restaurant. Harvey’s primary aspirations are as a writer; however, he enjoys performing and has done so across the country. In the mid 70’s he toured Western Canada with Black Stone, a country rock band and in the 80 with the Sugarloaf Mountain Bluegrass Band in Nova Scotia. Harvey’s debut CD, Cowboys and Angels, produced by Craig Fotheringham, was launched on December 12th with a party at the Niakwa Golf and Country Club. Harvey and his eight piece back up band played to a standing room crowd of over 250 people. His primary writing partner is Lee Solomon but most recently he has been writing with Ray Martin of the Foster Martin Band. Their first collaboration, Jack and Lucy, was demoed in March. “To me, a good song is a combination of inspiration and craft and the mix of those two ingredients will vary from song to song. You have no control over the inspiration, so pay attention to the craftâ€. Check out the artist's website: http://www.harveylevy.com Track List: 1. Jack And Lucy 2. Big Country's Cowboy Soul 3.
