$1000 Wedding opened up for their good buddy Chris Gaffney at the Blue Cafe in Long Beach, CA. In the audience was a local rock critic whose name was Nadine. She disliked $1000 Wedding so much that she wrote a letter to the venue complaining about them. The band was both amused and angry. They were so affected by her letter that they wrote not one but two songs about it. In a similar vein, the cd contains songs with a sardonic, sarcastic and humorous look at modern life and the current music scene. This cd is unlike any you have heard before. Unlike Nadine, we here at Tres Pescadores love this cd.
Tracy Huffman heads up this country rock band of Los Angeles area roots veterans. His song writing, singing and guitar work give this new CD from Tres Pescadores Records a sound that is both unique and familiar, evoking memories of Tom Petty, Gram Parsons, and Neil Young. Wyman Reese, who is a long-time Chris Gaffney associate, produced the CD and adds keyboards, guitars, and vocals. Gaffney's drummer, John Senne, adds his distinct yet tasteful rhythms and vocals. Rounding out the sound are Brian Hall on lead guitar and vocals and John Sleeger on bass and vocals. Additional musicians include Greg Gaffney on bass and Dave Pearlman on steel guitar and other assorted stringed instruments. Pearlman, who has worked with everyone from Tom Russell to Beausoleil, also engineered this great new sound.
