peter walsh - singer/songwriter Peter Walsh is 23 and he grew up in Cardiff, South Wales. Pete formed his first band at around the age of 16, they were called "West of the Bridge" and they were together for about 18 months. Pete then joined a cover's band, playing lead guitar, but he knew that this wasn't for him as he wanted to write and perform his own material. He advertised for musicians and soon had a new band together and re-named the band "Urban Clearway". The band started playing gigs but, as with most bands, some band members turned out to be unreliable and Pete found himself having to turn down gigs as a result. He continued playing some acoustic gigs with Lee the harmonica and sax player who was a great musician. Pete started a sound engineering course in 2001 and qualified in November 2002. This was going to be of enormous benefit to him. With the help of his father they came up with the idea of converting their garage into a "recording studio" This project took sometime to complete but it was finished in late 2002. Pete managed to get hold of a Soundcraft analogue desk and an E-16 Fostex Tape Machine. Pete advertised for a bassist and along with their drummer and harmonica/sax player, they decided to re-name the band Appaloosa and they were soon playing gigs around Cardiff. The band were together for sometime, but once again members were not committed and at that point Pete decided to concentrate more on writing and laying down songs in his studio for an album. On quite a few of the tracks he played all the instruments himself, as well as writing, vocals, recording and producing it himself. Pete's determination and love of music continued and he decided to go out on his own in 2004 and do some acoustic sets. He played in Cardiff, Bristol and London . Pete' s influences in music are vast, but include Neil Young, Dylan, The Stones, The Band, Gram Parsons, Crosby Stills Nash, The Beatles, and all Country and Blues music.Pete hopes to become a successful musician and seems to have a natural ability as a singer/songwriter.
