"He Only Hears My Heart" is the most recent project from Parr Family and Friends. It is an enjoyable blend of middle road Southern Gospel and arrangements featuring a variety of musical styles from country to blues and pop. The CD also features two exciting original songs- the title cut "He Only Hears My Heart" and " Once Was Enough". Parr Family and Friends is based in Dallas, Texas and takes their ministry to Texas and the other Southern states. Members of the group include Gerald and Glenna Parr, Yankee transplants with a lifetime background in Southern Gospel music and Twilla Bennett, a true Texas native. Gerald has traveled and performed gospel music ALL of his life, first as a child and teenager with his parents' group, in college with the Leichty Quartet, with the Steve Adams Trio and finally with his own family group Parr Family and Friends. He grew up singing and harmonizing by ear and playing bass guitar with his family and in the studio. He took time to gather a vocal performance degree from Olivet Nazarene University where his teachers encouraged him to head for the Opera but his love for Gospel music carried him straight back to that ministry after college. Right after Gerald graduated, his folks hired Glenna to play piano for their quartet and once Gerald and Glenna performed together that was enough to forge a musical relationship which developed into a personal one. Glenna has assisted Gerald over the years by playing, singing, arranging, producing..cooking!! Glenna does all the arranging and production for the group and is affectionately teased for being the least 'inhibited' member of the group. She likes to add fun and humor wherever possible and, although she would rather play than sing, she fills in harmony parts and takes an occasional solo. Twilla Bennett is a high school music teacher..wow!...and sings every chance she gets. Her beautiful, rich voice thrills people wherever she goes. She comes from, and honors, the legacy of Christian witness that her family has presented for several generations. One of the reasons this group has been together for a long time and sings so tightly together is the shared friendship. Gerald, Glenna and Twilla, along with technical support Bill and Paula McCutcheon are really a family and their mission is to share God's love through quality Christian entertainment. Track List: 1.
