Auto-Biography

'Born at the start and then I got older which I discovered at an early age. After growing up in Beaumont, Texas I moved briefly to Corpus Christi and from there to Nashville to pursue a songwriting career.

I was fortunate enough to find work as a writer for six years with three publishers as a staff songwriter. I also was an independent writer for four years. In 1990 I could no longer play the guitar because of severe back problems and loss of feeling in my left arm and hand.

My hiatus from writing and singing ended when I returned to Texas in July 1998. At my daughter's insistence I resumed playing and writing to support myself.

After three marriages and divorces, I have plenty to write about, good and bad. I have four kids and consider being their father the most rewarding thing in my life.

The friends I've made since moving to Galveston and the opportunity to perform my songs have been blessings. I write about life on the island, past and present. Happiness to me is to be living on island time. I just wish my boys and daughter lived here too.
