I think she's going places" - Don Conoscenti At 9,000 feet, high in the Rocky Mountains, singer/songwriter/guitarist, Jami Lunde lives in a one stop light town where it snows over 7 months a year and gets down to 30 below zero. Jami lives in a one room log cabin, without running water and just a wood stove for heat. it is here that Jami and her musical partner/husband, Jeff Lunde write and record their music. Jami is a 'tell-it-like-it-is' songwriter. She could fall somewhere between Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch. She's been compared to Kathleen Edwards, Beth Orton, Edie Brickell and The be Good Tanyas. In December 2002, Jami released "Butterfly with Broken Wings" her 11 song debut record on Awnry Girl Records. It is an 11 song acoustic collection of personal songs. Stacey Earle c0-wrote with Jami on her song "Porter County Line" after meetin at the Rocky Mountain Song School in Lyons, CO. The Album was recorded right in the heart of her cabin with her Black Labs at her feet. If you listen closely, you can hear their tin dog tags and the cracks of a winter night's fire in their old Ashley stove. Jami has been performing all around Colorado and has begun to tour Nationally. She has shared the stage with some amazing musicains like: Don Conoscenti, Christopher Williams, Brian Joseph, Michael Kelsh, Kreg Viesselman, Stephanie Corby, Justin Roth , Jenny Bruce , Amy Speace and others. Jami and Jeff have begun to record the follow up album and are very excited about the process. Chris Funk from the Portland, OR band, The Decemberists will play on Pedal Steel but Jami and Jeff will be doing it all themselves. Jami will be on her 1970 Gibson SJ 200, banjo, electric guitar, harmonica and whatever else she can find. Jeff will be playing bass, mandolin and percussion. Jami also books and promotes a House Concert Series called Awnry Girl Productions House Concerts in the Winter Park Colorado area. She has hosted some of her closest musical friends and other inspiring musicians that she loves. Upcoming shows in the works are with Jonathan Byrd and Dromedary, Stacey Earle and Mark Stuart, Dolly Varden's Steve Dawson and Diane Christiansen and more. Jami also has a booking agency that she books nationally touring artists for Winter Park concerts. This agency is called Tuscola Productions. Her songs, according to Gibson Guitar's, Bill Gonder, are "honest and that's what the worls needs.
