Acoustic Endeavors was formed in 1992 when Warren Amberson and Kelly Green decided that they needed a performing vehicle for their original material. Based variously in Nashville, TN and now Warren’s hometown of Roanoke, VA, the band is composed of Warren on bass, mandolin and vocals, Kelly on guitar and vocals, Dewey Peters on guitar, John Lawless on banjo and vocals, and Billy Hurt on fiddle. All are recognized and established in the bluegrass world and the band’s two previous projects (Coming Of Age and Sneak Preview) were released to high praise from the bluegrass music press, and acoustic radio in general. On A Farm boasts a total of 16 songs, all written by Amberson and Green, which manage that difficult blending of melodic simplicity, stylistic integrity and poetic expression. With both a male and a female lead vocalist, Acoustic Endeavors has a varied yet distinctive voice. The accompaniment is always sufficiently restrained to allow the song to shine, but powerful and authoritative when it’s time to pick! Thoughtful original material, passionate performance and two distinctive vocalists are the hallmarks of this five piece band of experienced professionals from Roanoke, VA. Their eclectic style has made them a comfortable fit in a wide range of broadcast formats, with fans drawn from bluegrass,gospel, and traditional country and folk music listeners.
