All Genres > Classical > Traditional > LAUREL ZUCKER AND GERALD RANCK: The Complete J.S. Bach Flute Sonatas (2 CD set) Laurel Zucker is considered one of the top virtuoso recording flutists today. Ms. Zucker has 26 recordings out on Cantilena Records from all genres: classical, world cross-over, jazz, and instrumental rock. Gramophone Magazine has compared her equal to Rampal and Galway. Fanfare has called her recordings filling an important niche in flute recording history. Her Bach Sonatas have received rave reviews from classical magazines, newspapers, and are played on every classical radio station in the U.S. and abroad. "Zucker's interpretations are splendid all round -as polished and gratifying as those by Galway and Rampal. Her tone is airy and sweet, her virtuosity graceful. One might describe her style as old-fashioned, since it seems more concerned with sculpting phrases and nurturing Bach's expansive melodies...
