If you are a musician, one of the most important ways to develop your playing style is by listening to professional artists perform the music for your instrument. Listening provides the student with a model for the saxophone tone and helps develop a sense for the proper musical techniques neceassary for performing in various styles of music. This new recording provides everything above! The compositions are from a variety of historical periods and display performance styles that are Latin, French, Contemporary, Baroque and Romantic. Not only that, but they are all standard pieces from the Texas UIL Division I repertoire (the most difficult level) and many contest lists throughout the United States. If your state does not have a contest list, you can be assured that these pieces would be appropriate for performance in your state. If you are serious about saxopohone perforamance and doing well in music competitions, there is no better CD available. Brian Trittin has earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in saxophone performance from the University or Arizona. He also has Master's and Bachelor degrees in Music Education which attest to his love of teaching and his desire to serve as a mentor to students of the saxophone. He has performed as saxophone soloist throughout the United States and Europe where he has performed with bands and saxophone quartets. He currently resides in Texas where he is an active clinician and performer in the Austin area while teaching at a local university.
