Description of CD - Love Burns Love Burns is a collection of original solo cello compositions written over the last three or four years. I utilize looping devices to record bass lines, harmonies and counter melodies and improvise melodies over the top of each piece. There are natural acoustic effects and electronic effects in some of the more ambient works. The CD is all instrumental, improvisational in nature, sometimes ambient, moody, reflective, somber and joyful. Jupiter DeMars plays drums on Van's Moonlight and Mexicali Tango and Gordon Baker plays didgeridoo on Swimming in G. All other instrumentation is pure cello! Here's a list of the nuts and bolts: I have an acoustic german cello made around 1880 and have an LR Baggs condenser mic pick-up with an LR Baggs preamp. The effects boxes are two Lexicon JamMans daisy chained together and I use a Hiwatt DR103 amp with a Hiwatt 4X12 cabinet and a Hafler P3000 amp with a Daedalus enclosed acoustic cabinet.
