Intense, exhilarating, out-of-this-world. Here is music of the future captured, manipulated and delivered via a computer-enhanced acoustic grand piano. This is not synthesizer music. This music is bionic: real performers on real piano with a computer assist. The rich sounds of a grand piano are beautifully recorded and presented. Following in a long line of composers who have explored the possibilities of music written and/or performed on mechanically-driven pianos, including such luminaries as George Antheil, George Gershwin, and Conlon Nancarrow, Igor Korneitchouk has taken the idea into the digital age. Helping him take it there are a group of performers whose taste and skill help bring the music alive. Steven Schick on marimba, Mary Barranger on piano, Ed Harkins on trumpet, James Romeo on soprano saxophone, and George Svoboda on classical guitar. Track List: 1. Fanfare for Piano 2. Locrian Invention 3. Plastic Sonata 4. Prelude and Variations, for trumpet, guitar, mar 5. Critical Velocity 6. Protean Flux 7. The Disqualification of Harry Semantix as Trial 8.
