Duration: 73.29 This anthology comprises a particularly wide range of music styles and gives a most interesting overview of the work being done over the past two decades in Australian composition. Featuring works by 11 Australian composers it was produced in 1990 by Jade for the Fellowship of Australian Composers, devised by the President, Ian Shanahan. Instrumentation ranges from Smetanin's "Ladder of Escape" for 7 bass clarinets & 2 contrabass clarinets, through works for solo piano, mandolins, amplified mandolin & percussion, flute & piano, solo alto flute, violin & piano, harpsichord & wind chimes and Ian Frederick's "Sunrise" for tape, produced at the Sydney University Experimental Sound Studio. This CD comes with a 20 page booklet giving full details on each composition.
