Christian Sands is one such individual. At the precocious age of 15 he already has three major components that qualify him to be a mature pianist: exceptional ability as a composer, great intrepretational skills and adequate command of the instrument. Christian own composition "Corner Dees" employs a traditional jazz harmonic movement and a pleasant harmonic suprise in the bridge. He has taken a proven Michel Le Grande classic "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life" and given it a very "do-able" pop treatment that could very well establish him as a successful commercial artist, with a strong jazz influence." Well, Christian is bilingual-he has two native languages, but one of them is made of rhythms, harmonies, inflections and idiosyncratic phrasing that we refer to collectively as JAZZ. There's no translation barrier to his playing-it's as though he uses his hands and the piano to play JAZZ as naturally as he uses his voice to speak. If there is a piano in sight he has to play it-he just can't help himself."
