Guitarist Tony 'Wild T' Springer has played with the best of them. Wild T and the Spirit have performed with The Doors, Boston, David Bowie, Bon Jovi, Jeff Healey, Deep Purple, and Johnny Winter to name but a few. Wild T has appeared on many late night talk shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman and The Arsenio Hall Show. These are just some of the celebrities that have been blown away by his guitar playing and music. Originally from Tunapuna, Trinidad, Wild T first picked up the guitar after hearing Steve Howe from YES, though one may find similarities to Jimi Hendrix, Lenny Kravitz, George Benson and Eric Gale. After moving to Toronto, Canada in his late teens, Wild T quickly gained a reputation playing on the local club circuit. In 1991 Wild T signed a deal with Warner Music Canada and released his debut album "LOVE CRAZY". After seeing the video for the single "Midnight Blues" on Much Music (Canada's MTV) David Bowie, while on tour in Canada with his band The Tin Machine, offered Wild T the chance to play guitar on his new solo album 'BLACK TIE, WHITE NOISE'. The album was released in 1992. After releasing his second album 'GIVIN' BLOOD' in 1993, Wild T and the Spirit supported Bon Jovi on a 14 show Canadian tour. The single 'LOVELAND' also became a Top10 hit on Much Music in Canada! In 1995 'GIVIN' BLOOD' was released and distributed in U.S. by Thermometer Records. During that time, Wild T and the Spirit opened concerts for Deep Purple, Yngwie Malmsteen and Johnny Winter throughout the U.S. In 2000, Wild T and the Spirit released 'STRANGE MODERN', and continued to tour throughout Canada. In 2003, Wild T and the Spirit, with Wild T... guitar/lead vocals, Guenther Kapelle...bass/vocals, Rob Angelow...keyboards/vocals and Andre Tellier...drums/vocals signed with Bullseye Records and released their latest CD entitled 'TRUE BLISS'. This blues/rock album also mixes up funk, jazz and R&B, but still has plenty of the 'over the top' guitar stuff the people have come to love with Wild T. The new album has been released in Canada and the US on the Bullseye Records label. This album includes the singles 'Can't Get You (Outta My Mind)' featuring his friend and fellow guitarist Jeff Healey and a remake of 'High School Confidential' as a duet with Carole Pope (Rough Trade). The band has been touring hard, with 4 tours of Canada, as well as festival and club dates in Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Chile. The band has also performed at the half time show at the season opener for The Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). To get the full impact of Wild T and the Spirit, one must see the band live. There are no costumes... there are no props... just the musicians and their instruments. Wild T's wizardry on the electric guitar has left his audiences mesmerized. Guenther Kapelle's funky and sublime bass styling is a perfect compliment for Wild T. Rob Angelow and Andre Tellier round out the band with their melodic keyboards and earthy percussion tones.
